Today is White Ribbon Day

This year Australia has moved the date forward to November 23, away from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25.

White Ribbon Day is an annual initiative which aims to highlight the issues of prevention of men’s violence against women as well as gender equality.

This is very important to make a stand on an issue that’s important to our community. In this year 63 women have died in domestic violence incidents across the country.

The day also aims to raise awareness of prevention of all forms of disrespect and violence by working with Ambassadors and Advocates to create change through education as well as preventative programs.

It’s hoped people will take safe and considered action to prevent incidents.
