Bilateral meeting with the Presidents of IEB and Engineers Australia

The Honourable President of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), and Science & Technology Secretary of Bangladesh Awamileague, Engr. Mr. Abdus Sabur was invited to attend in a prestigious Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering Innovation and Award excellence program on 13th June 2019, held at Sofitel Hotel, Wentworth, Sydney. The president of Engineers Australia (EA), Sydney division Mr. Bruce Howard and General Manager of EA, Mr. Greg Ewing also invite IEB Australia Overseas chapter’s Chairman Engr. Abdul Matin and Secretary Dr. AHM Kamruzzaman at this award ceremony. The opening address of this ceremony was delivered by The Honourable Karen Andrews MP, who is the Minister for Industry, Science & Technology of the Australian Government.

The honourable president Mr. Howard and GM Mr. Ewing have given highest appreciation to the IEB Australia overseas chapter, who jointly organised Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng) seminar for 120 Bangladeshi engineers held at EA auditorium Sydney on 4th December 2018 with the presence of honourable CEO of EA Mr. Peter McIntyre and H.E. Bangladesh High Commissioner Mohammad Sufiur Rahman. This was then followed by a dialogue between two presidents on “How Bangladeshi professional engineers can bring strong bilateral relation between these two countries, in particular getting full signatory of Washington Accord Accreditation for IEB accredited engineering universities”. This discussion made another milestone for IEB to the international engineering alliance partner like EA. The honourable President Mr. Sabur was pleased to invite EA president and GM to the forthcoming 60th IEB convention in Bangladesh, on January 2020.
