Thursday 15th & 22nd August, 9.30 AM– 3.30 PM. Hurstville
You will learn signs and symptoms of mental health illness,and invaluable strategies to confidently support someone experiencing a mental health crisis. The course includes information on professional mental health services available and the latest research on effective interventions. The following topics will be covered:
Mental health problems:
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Confusion and dementia
• Psychosis
Mental health crisis:
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
• Panic attacks, and delirium
• Unsafe behaviors due to confusion – wandering, unsafe in current place of residence
• Challenging behaviours due to confusion
